Sarab (Serab) is a small town in Northwestern Iran surrounded with low mountains. Sarab is located in the path of many tribal people such as Shasavan. Apart from being one of the best looking of Persian carpets Sarab is also one of the nicest quality carpets. These carpets of excellent quality are in high demand and therefore, rather costly. Sarab rugs usually have geometric structure patterns, the colours are dark red and powerful blue predominate, with the ivory color being a beautiful contrast. Less often you´ll find colors such as soft green, blue and brown. Sarab rugs are known for a soft wool and thin, tight pile.
